When Science and Scripture Clash: Navigating the Minefield of Faith: In an age of scientific advancements, many grapple with reconciling their faith with seemingly contradictory biblical narratives. Did creation really occur in six days? Did the Earth truly stand still for Joshua? These questions can create doubt and distance individuals from their faith. However, the Bible itself encourages questioning and seeking understanding (Proverbs 2:3-5). We can explore how science and faith can coexist by examining figures like Job, who questioned God amidst suffering (Job 1-42). We can also analyze verses like Romans 1:20 (“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made”) and Hebrews 11:3 (“By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen came from what is not seen”).
